Lice Treatment & Removal Warren County NJ

There is a lot of misinformation out there about head lice.  For some families, having a lice outbreak is one of the worst things imaginable.  Unfortunately, head lice come with a certain, though unnecessary, stigma.  Lice Happens understands what you’re going through and we’d love the opportunity to help you with your lice troubles.

Lice Happens is professional and mobile lice removal and treatment clinic that serves families living in Warren County, New Jersey right in the comfort of their own homes.  All of our vehicles are logo-free to ensure your privacy.  We offer confidential and quick treatments for the eradication and removal of head lice.

All of our trained lice removal and treatment experts are specialists in their field.  They undergo extensive training and coaching on how to properly eradicate head lice, treat young children, and educate families on head lice.  All of our specialists are passionate about what they do and will treat you and your family with nothing but dignity, respect, and compassion.

We understand that going to a store to purchase over-the-counter remedies can be embarrassing.  We also understand that dragging your children to a public salon can be the worst thing imaginable.  Our services eliminate the need to do either of these two things because we will fix your lice problem right in your home.  You never have to leave the house to get rid of the infestation.

Our services are 100% private and confidential, though we do recommend telling the school nurse where your child attends school and parents of children your kids play with about the outbreak.  You don’t have to, of course, but most parents like to know about an outbreak when it occurs.  School nurses are experienced at handling these types of delicate situations and will discreetly get the word out to other classroom parents.  This knowledge will make stopping the spread of head lice among children your kids play and learn with much quicker and easier.

We are available to help families in Somerset County 7 days per week. We offer emergency lice treatment and removal services as well as appointments. The sooner lice are detected and treated, the better. Lice spread quickly and easily, so it’s smart to have them eradicated as fast as possible.

One of the first steps our specialist will take when he or she arrives at your home will be to screen the entire family for head lice.  If one member of the family has lice, it is likely that others do as well.  Lice do not fly or jump, but they do crawl rapidly when heads are touching.  All it takes is hug or a snuggle and lice can easily spread between family members.  While performing the manual screening, the specialist will teach you this important skill and what to look for to detect a lice infestation.  Sometimes it is easy to mistake dandruff, globs of hairspray, or debris that can land in hair for head lice.  Regular screenings for children are recommended.  Early detection and treatment makes stopping the spread of head lice much easier.

Once each person who has lice is identified, the specialist will treat them.  Our treatments are non-toxic, safe, and chemical free.  They contain no pesticides and are safe for the environment.  The ingredients are naturally derived as well.  There are no side effects to our treatments; they are safe on all skin types, and safe for all ages.  Our treatments are unlike anything that can be purchased over-the-counter.

The specialist will use a fine toothed metal lice comb to remove lice eggs (nits), young lice (nymphs), and adult lice from the hair.  Combing is gentle, but for young children our specialists use extra soothing methods to make kids more comfortable during the treatment process.  Proper combing is one of the most important steps to eradicating head lice.  If proper combing is not performed, lice will continue to persist.  For this reason, follow up combing is essential in the days after the initial treatment.  Not to worry!  The specialist will show you the proper way to use a lice comb so you can perform this follow up care.  This skill will also be useful to you should your child get re-introduced to head lice in the future from another source.  When we are finished with our salon quality treatments, hair will look and feel soft, shiny, and clean.  It will be like you just left a salon, but you never had to leave home.  We will never try to up sell you with gimmicks or gadgets that promise shortcuts to the lice removal process.  There are no shortcuts and non-toxic treatments plus fine combing with metal lice combs are the most effective way to remove head lice once and for all.

During the treatment process the specialist will take time to educate you about head lice and why you shouldn’t feel embarrassed about the infestation.  Lice do not discriminate when it comes to finding hosts.  They only thing that lice look for is a human food source.  Lice are parasites that require human blood to survive.  Without a host, lice cannot live for more than 24 hours.  It doesn’t matter how clean a person is, the ethnicity of a person, the gender of a person, or how clean a home is.  There is no shame and no blame when it comes to a lice infestation.  It happens.  We work hard to dispel myths associated with head lice, who gets lice, how lice spread, home care, hygiene, and many other topics.  By the time we leave you’ll be a lice expert too!  We will also provide your family with tips on how to prevent lice infestations in the future.  If you have any questions or concerns, we’ll address those too.  This part of our service costs no extra and we will never delay treatment times for which you are charged extra.
